How a Made-to-Measure Lehenga Is Priced

Why there is no price list on this site, what moves the price of a bridal lehenga, and how you get a figure before any work begins.

We do not publish a price list, because every piece is priced per order. The price follows the amount of hand work, the cloth you choose and what is being made, and it is quoted before any work begins. Nothing is started before you have the figure.

Search for a bridal lehenga price and you will find numbers everywhere, most of them for something that was made in advance in a size. A made-to-measure lehenga is a different kind of purchase: it does not exist until you order it, and two with the same name can be very different amounts of work.

That is why there is no price list here. It is not a way of avoiding the question. It is the honest answer to it, and this page sets out what the answer depends on.

What moves the price

The largest part is the hand work: how much embroidery, in which craft, and how many hours it takes. A bridal lehenga here carries 200 to 600 hours of zardozi, gota patti and aari, and the range is wide because the work is. A lighter piece, such as an engagement or mehendi outfit, carries less.

After that, the cloth you choose, and what is being made: a lehenga alone, or the blouse and dupatta with it, or a panetar or gharchola, or the whole wedding week.

Why a price from a photograph is unreliable

A photograph shows the finished garment, not the hours inside it. Two lehengas that look alike on a screen can differ in how dense the embroidery is, how much of it is on the skirt and how much on the blouse, and how it was done. A figure quoted without seeing what you want is a guess, and we would rather not guess.

How you get a figure

Tell us the date, the occasion, how many people you are dressing and what you have loved before. Photographs help more than any description. We discuss the design with you, in the studio in Vadodara or on a video call, and we give you the figure for your pieces before any work begins.

Nothing is started before you have the figure.

If you live abroad

The figure we quote is for the making. Courier and any import duty depend on where the outfit is going, and duty is set by the country, not by the studio. The shipping and customs page sets out what to expect for each country.

The wedding week as one order

Bridal, mehendi, sangeet, reception, engagement, and the groom’s and family’s outfits are often ordered together. Tell us the whole list at the start, and we will quote the pieces together and plan them as one job.

When to ask

Ask early. Our bridal calendar runs four weeks at most, start to finish, and six to eight weeks before the wedding is comfortable. From November to February the studio is booked months ahead.

Questions we are asked

How much does a bridal lehenga cost?

It is priced per order, because the work differs from one piece to the next. We do not publish a price list. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote before any work begins, and nothing is started before you have the figure.

Why is there no price on the website?

Because a made-to-measure lehenga does not exist until it is ordered, and two pieces with the same name can be very different amounts of work. A figure given without knowing what you want would be a guess.

What decides the price of a made-to-measure lehenga?

Mainly the hand work: how much embroidery, in which craft, and how many hours. Then the cloth, and what is being made: a lehenga alone, or with blouse and dupatta, or a whole wedding week of outfits.

How much does an engagement lehenga or a chaniya choli cost?

The same rule applies. Each is priced per order, and a lighter piece carries less hand work than a bridal one. Tell us what you have in mind and we will quote before any work begins.

How much does a gharchola or panetar cost?

It is priced per order too, because the work differs from one piece to the next. We quote before any work begins, and nothing is started before you have the figure.

Does the price include shipping and duty?

The figure we quote is for the making. Courier and import duty depend on where the outfit is going, and duty is set by the destination country. Our shipping and customs page sets out what to expect for each.
