NRI Wedding Outfits in India
The wedding is in India and you are flying in. How to settle the outfits from abroad, so your trip is for fittings and family, not for choosing.
Message us about two months before you fly. We settle the design, colours and embroidery on WhatsApp, take measurements on a twenty-minute video call, and start the cloth before you land. You usually need one fitting, sometimes two, and collect the finished outfit, boxed, before the functions.
A family in New Jersey or Leicester marrying in Vadodara or Ahmedabad, flying in a few weeks before the wedding, has a great deal to fit into one trip. The outfits are the part that can be done in advance, and that is how we work.
This is the version of ordering from abroad we do most, and the one with the fewest moving parts. Nothing is shipped, nothing is declared, and nothing is paid at any border.
About two months before you fly
Message us on WhatsApp. We settle the design, the colours and the embroidery while you are still abroad, so none of that eats into your trip. Photographs of what you have loved before help more than any description.
Measurements on a video call
Twenty minutes on a WhatsApp video call, weeks before you fly, with a tape measure and someone to hold the other end. The cloth goes on the frame before you land, which is what buys the time.
Fittings during your visit
Usually one, sometimes two, arranged around everything else your family has booked. The studio is on Old Padra Road in Vadodara, ten minutes from most of the city.
Collect it, finished
The outfit is boxed and ready before the functions begin. For bridal pieces, our calendar runs four weeks at most, start to finish, and six to eight weeks before the wedding is comfortable.
The whole wedding week and the family
Tell us the list at the start: the bride’s outfits, her sister’s, the groom’s, the mothers’, the mehendi, haldi, sangeet, reception and engagement. We plan them as one job, so the colours and the hand work agree with each other.
If your trip is short
Say so early. We have built plenty of bridal pieces around a two-week visit, but only when the conversation started weeks before the flight.

Can I get my wedding outfits made in India if I live abroad?

How early should NRI brides start planning outfits?
About two months before you fly. Bridal pieces are delivered in four weeks at most, and six to eight weeks before the wedding is comfortable, but starting the conversation earlier gives you more choice.
Will I pay customs duty if I collect the outfit in India?
No. If you collect it in Vadodara, nothing is shipped or declared, so there is no duty to pay at any border. Duty only applies if the outfit is couriered to another country.
How many fittings will I need in India?
Usually one, sometimes two, arranged around the rest of your family’s plans. Measurements are taken on a video call beforehand, so the fitting is for checking and adjusting rather than starting.
What if my trip to India is only two weeks?
It can still work, but only if the conversation starts weeks before the flight. Tell us your dates early and we will say plainly what can be made properly in the time.
